If you are looking for allergy-friendly Easter Candies with the top 9 food allergies, here are a few suggestions to get you started on your egg-less Easter hunt. As always, check with the manufacturers to make sure the facilities where the candies are produced are safe for you and your allergies. This is especially important if you need facilities without cross-contact or dedicated lines and facilities.

NoWhey! Chocolate

The New Jersey company, NoWhey! Chocolate has been our go-to for most allergy-friendly candy-based holidays for years. The company ships its products all over the United States of America and Canada. One of the widest chocolate options for Easter that is allergy-friendly, and one of the companies that covers the most food allergies with their products.

Easter Themed

Our favourites of the vast Easter options NoWhey Chocolates has to offer are the solid chocolate bunnies and the Mini Cream Veggs. The fondant-filled eggs are our favourite as they remind us of the Cadbury cream eggs. NoWhey! has everything from bunnies to eggs, chocolate lollies, and pea butter-filled eggs for allergy-friendly Easter candy.

Amanada’s Own Confections

This is a top-14 food-allergen-free chocolate company founded to accommodate the founder’s daughter. Amanda has severe food allergies, so the family opened  Amanda’s Own Confections. The chocolatier makes many holiday treats. The all-natural chocolates are made in a dedicated facility on dedicated lines.

Easter Themed

From bunnies and eggs to various Easter-themed shapes, Amada’s Own Confections has a plethora of holiday chocolates. While the options are all chocolate-based without fillings, they are perfect for any allergy-friendly Easter candy hunt.

Where To Buy

Amanda’s Own Confections is supposed to be on Amazon, but we were unable to find it at the time of publishing. Check the company’s website store locator to find a store near you that carries their products or purchase on their website if you are within the United States. In Canada, No Nuts About Us carries a very small selection of the Amanda’s Own brand.

YumEarth

A company that makes sweets and candies rather than chocolates, YumEarth is a popular allergy-friendly candy brand. This US-based company makes many types of candies that are both allergy-friendly and Easter candy-themed, and anytime sweets.

Free From

  • Peanuts
  • Tree nuts
  • Milk
  • Fish
  • Shellfish
  • Egg
  • Soy
  • Wheat
  • Sesame
  • Gluten

The company states on its homepage that they are free from the top 9 food allergens. They do have some shared lines and facilities, so we urge you to check out the chart found on the YumEarth website. Contacting the manufacturer is also another method you will need to use to find out if their candies are safe for you.

Its website cross-contact FAQ states, “Our manufacturing facilities comply with FDA regulations that require allergen control programs to control allergen cross-contact on the top 9 allergens. The line is fully cleaned before the production of our products and tested using allergen-specific ELISA kits. The finished goods are tested for gluten/wheat after every production run.”

Easter Themed

There are lollipops, gummies, and easter egg hunt kits available on their website for purchase within the United States of America. International orders have to be purchased on iHerb and are limited in some countries.

Dum-Dums Pops

Owned by the Ohio-based Spangler Candy company, Dum-Dums lollipops are a popular candy brand in the USA. Dum-Dums Pops come in so many different flavours it would be tough for kids to choose just one as their favourite.

Free From:

  • Peanuts
  • Tree nuts
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Shellfish
  • Wheat
  • Gluten
  • Kosher

The Bunny Pops are made on dedicated equipment according to the Dum-Dum Pops website as of 2025:  “This product does not contain peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, wheat or gluten. It has been manufactured on dedicated equipment.”

They do use soy-based oil on their machinery, so do contact Spangler if this may be an issue for you. We last contacted them in 2023 and they confirmed they were still using it at that time.

Easter Themed

For allergy-friendly Easter candy, the company does make special bunny-shaped lollipops called Bunny Pops. The Bunny pops come in 4 flavors: Tropi-Berry, Berry Blu Cherry, Berry Melon, Berry Lemonade.

Moo Free Chocolates

The second brand we tend to buy the most for chocolate products is Moo Free Chocolates. They have an Easter range that many stores in Western Canada bring in, so it makes shopping for allergy-friendly Easter goodies easy for us. The kids love them and they are reasonably priced, considering they travel from the UK to our local stores.

Free From:

  • Dairy Free
  • Gluten Free
  • Wheat Free
  • Soy Free
  • Vegan

In the brand’s  FAQ section, they discuss whether they are nut-free and have this statement:

“While we’re not a certified nut-free facility, we have strict allergen controls on site, we operate a dedicated ‘Free From’ chocolate production facility, and we do not handle any allergens. All raw material suppliers are risk assessed to ensure that there are no allergen cross-contamination risks in the supply chain.”

This means they may or may not suit everyone. Our kids have passed their nut challenges, so please be sure to vet them carefully for your food allergies.

Easter Themed

They are one of our family’s favourite chocolate egg makers for hollow eggs and bunny-shaped bars. The holiday-themed chocolates sell out very fast, so buy them when you see them!

NOMO Chocolate

Another brand we buy all the time when we travel is NOMO Chocolate. They have allergy-friendly Easter chocolates. A UK-based company, they have a wide range of free-from chocolate products.

Free From:

  • Dairy
  • Gluten
  • Eggs
  • Nuts

According to its website, the company has a dedicated section of its factory for making NOMO products.

When asked about soy/soya on the NOMO Chocolates website FAQ, they have this to say: “NOMO does not contain soya ingredients in the recipes. Whilst we take every precaution to avoid cross contamination with Soya, please be aware we do not declare these products as ‘Soya Free’.”

NOMO is great as it can also be ordered in Europe and Australia from the company’s website.

Easter Themed

Our Favourite NOMO Easter Product is the Caramel egg. Our kids love the caramel inside the chocolate of the Nomo Bars. They also have sets of hunt bunnies and smaller chocolates as well as chocolate eggs with chocolate bar sets.

Accidentally Top 9 Free

As with any kind of food product, there are also those that are what we call accidentally top 9 free. That means that the ingredients do not contain any of the top 9 allergens. It does not mean they are manufactured with dedicated facilities or lines, or elevated allergen protocols.

“May Contain”

If you do choose to consider Easter candy that doesn’t contain your food allergens, please remember that “may contain” statements are voluntary and not regulated. We highly recommend contacting the manufacturer about the specific products you wish to consider buying. You will need to determine whether their manufacturing processes are safe for you.

Another thing to keep in mind is that different shapes or holiday runs of a product may not be in the same facility as the regular products. This means they may not use the same place to make the candies as they usually do. If you have had them before, you will still need to check that they are safe for you.

Sour Patch Kids

Sour Patch Kids have an Easter line in bunny and egg shapes. They are also larger bags of snack packs, perfect for hiding around the house if you go on a hunt. Make sure to contact the company to see if these are right for you.

Dare Juicee Beans

Dare is a Canadian company that makes dairy-free and gluten-free jelly beans. They are also accidentally free from the other top 9 food allergens. The Juicee Beans, as they call them, are sold at retailers like London Drugs in Western Canada. If you are thinking of buying Dare Juicee Beans, contact Dare to make sure they are safe for your food allergies.

Starburst Jelly Beans

In the United States, starburst jelly beans may be a jelly option to look into for your family’s food allergies. While many other brands contain milk or soy at the time of publishing Starburst uses corn in their jelly beans. They are not specifically Easter-marketed, but might be an option for those looking for a jelly bean. Contact Starburst to make sure they are right for your food allergies before buying.

Peeps

The classic marshmallow dipped in decorative sugar are a staple for most families at Easter. This is one of those candies that tugs on the nostalgic heartstrings. If you are looking for a candy you had and want your kids to share in that memory, these may be the ones.

There is a difference, though, between the fun holiday-shaped peeps and the regular chick shapes. When we last checked, they were made in different facilities, and the chicks were better suited for those with food allergies, but double-check in case that has changed. The Peeps FAQ web page has more information on allergens in their products.

Contact the Peeps parent company, Just Born to see if any of their products are suitable for your food allergies.

Final Thoughts

If you have found any other allergy-friendly Easter candies, please leave a comment and let us know. It is always great to find more brands that take food allergies seriously.

Not everyone has the same food allergies. These ideas cover the top 9 food allergens: milk, soy, eggs, wheat, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. Many countries recognise many more priority food allergens. Some people are also allergic to other foods beyond the top 9. We have to be careful and contact companies, as one of our kids is allergic to cantaloupe.

Just like everyone has different allergies, they also have different levels of comfort with shared lines and facilities. It is up to you to do your due diligence before purchasing any candy to ensure it is safe for your food allergies. We are not medical professionals; we are only parents who have kids with food allergies.

One way you can check is to read every label, every time you look at items. Another is to contact the manufacturer and inquire about their lines, facilities, and ingredient sources.
