In a nation filled with endless options for grocery shopping, finding the right supermarket can make all the difference. The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI)  recently released a study on America’s top trusted supermarkets, based on feedback from over 35,000 customers.

With a range of factors considered, including quality, customer service, and value for money, the study sheds light on the top-performing supermarkets and big-box retailers who’ve expanded into the grocery sector that have won over the hearts and loyalty of consumers across the nation.

10. Whole Foods

With over 500 stores in the US, Canada, and the UK, Whole Foods is known for its high-quality products and unique shopping experience.The popular organic and natural grocery chain has seen a 4% increase in customer satisfaction scores, rising from 76 to 79 in just one year, according to the latest ACSI data.

Discount retailer Target has also reason to celebrate as they see a 3% jump in customer satisfaction scores, as per ACSI. The retailer’s score rose from 77 to 79 in just one year, an improvement that may be attributed to factors such as improved store layouts, increased selection of private-label brands, and expanded same-day fulfillment options.

Sam’s Club, the membership warehouse club owned by retail giant Walmart, maintained a high customer satisfaction score of 79 for the second year in a row.  Despite not seeing an increase in scores, Sam’s Club remains a top favorite among customers.

With over 220 stores located primarily on the East Coast of the United States, BJ’s Wholesale Club is known for offering members a wide range of products at discounted prices. The membership warehouse club chain has seen a 1% increase in customer satisfaction scores, rising from 78 to 79.

Wegmans, the beloved regional supermarket chain known for its high-quality products, has experienced a slight decline in customer satisfaction scores, according to the  (ACSI) report.  While the company’s score fell from 81 to 80, it remains a top favorite among customers.

With over 2,000 stores in 37 states, Aldi has become a major player in the grocery industry. However, according to the latest ACSI data, the popular discount supermarket’s customer satisfaction score has decreased from 81 to 80 in the last year.

The Texas-based grocery chain, known for its fresh produce, high-quality meats, and in-store bakery and deli, has also seen a bump in the customer satisfaction score, from 82 to 81 out of a total of 100.
