Every Veterans Day, businesses show their support for active military, veterans and their families with free meals, special discounts or free admission.

But there are also plenty of freebies veterans and active-duty military can enjoy all year long. Here’s a complete list.

Coffee

7-Eleven offers a free coffee or Big Gulp on Veterans Day. Veterans with valid ID can also get a free donut at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations. Dunkin’ also runs a sweepstakes that allows loved ones to send an active military member a shipment of coffee. You can apply here

Restaurants

IHOP offers 20% off year-round to active and retired military members with a valid ID.

Applebee’s offers a free meal from a limited menu on Veterans Day with a valid military ID. The restaurant chain also gives 10% off all year long, at participating locations. 

Outback Steakhouse offers a “heroes discount” for all service members, police officers, firefighters and first responders. The 10% discount is available all year at participating locations with a valid state or federal ID.

Cracker Barrel offers a complimentary pumpkin pie latte or a slice of double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola cake on Veterans Day for active and former military members. 

Those with a valid ID can get 10% off their meal at participating Buffalo Wild Wings locations.

Veterans and active military members ages 50 and up can get 30% off an AARP membership, which includes discounts, a magazine subscription and more.

Insurance

Service members can get up to 15% off their insurance premium at Geico. Geico also offers military car insurance discounts to members of specific military organizations — you can learn more on the Geico website.

Get 5% off your pet insurance policy with a valid military ID. Discount is not available in Florida, New York or Tennessee.

Auto-related expenses

Federal Credit Union
Active duty and retired military members can get 0.25% off their annual percentage rate select auto loans. To apply, call 888-842-6328 or visit your local branch.

Car parts
Auto Accessories Garage offers a military discount on car parts for active duty military members and veterans. Visit the Auto Accessories Garage website to apply. 

Active military members and veterans can also get 5% off all online purchases at CarParts.com.

Military members can get 7% off tires at TireBuyer with a valid ID. 

Some car manufacturers offer special discounts on car leases or purchases for active or former military members. Other companies offer rebates and financing deals. Participating manufacturers include BMW, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Nissan, Kia Motors, Land Rover and Subaru. Check your local dealership for more information.

Select car and truck rental companies offer special rates for active military members and veterans. Other rental companies offer free insurance coverage and no additional fees for military members. Active-duty military members and veterans can get up to 61% off moving and relocation services via uShip, including no transaction fees. Penske also offers 10% off truck rentals.

Airfare
Veterans and active-duty military with a valid ID can get up three pieces of checked luggage free at airports, no charges for oversized bags and priority boarding via Allegiant Air. American Airlines also offers a 50% discount for transporting your pet. 

Lufthansa and United both offer a 5% discount on all online airline tickets. Here are some tips for finding an affordable flight.

Hotel
Major hotel chains offer special discounts per diem for military members, including Beaches, Best Western, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn and Hilton. 

Taking a trip with your family? Disneyland Resort offers a special reduced nightly rate for military and discounted tickets to the parks. Great Wolf Lodge also offers up to 30% off with the code “heroes”.

Train & bus tickets
Veterans can save 10% on Amtrak train tickets,10% off Greyhound and 15% off Peter Pan bus tickets.

Armed Forces Gear
Get specialized and casual military gear for 10% off online. Discount is available for anyone who has served in the military and their spouses and immediate families. 

Shoes
Active-duty military and veterans can get 15% off most purchases at Foot Locker with a valid ID. 

New Balance also offers a 10% military discount, for anyone with a valid .mil email address.

Kohl’s
The department store typically has specials on Veterans Day for veterans and active military. Kohl’s also hosts “Military Mondays,” a 15% in-store discount every Monday for military with a valid ID. 

Sportswear
Get athletic wear and shoes for less with Nike’s 10% military discount. You’ll need a valid ID to qualify. Also at Under Armour first responders and military can get 20% off their purchase.

Wedding dress
Bridal retailers across the country provide free wedding dresses to military brides. Throughout the year, retailers across the country host special wedding dress giveaways. Find an event near you here

Movie tickets
Show your military ID at AMC Theatres and get a discount on a ticket. Cinemark Theatres also offers special rates for military. Discount days and times vary by location. 

Cable subscription
Active duty military and veterans who purchase a cable package with Dish get access to the Stars & Stripes Pack for free and a free movie rental each month. Military families also get a two-year price guarantee. 

Music
Veterans and active military members get 20% off Pandora Premium at $7.99 per month. Premium includes ad-free music, unlimited skips and unlimited offline listening. 

Military can also get 25% off SiriusXM with a valid military ID. The subscription gives access to more than 140 channels of commercial-free music, news, comedy and more.

Gym membership
Military and first responders get $5 off monthly dues on basic 24 Hour Fitness memberships, with a $0 initiation. Bring your valid military ID to your local 24 Hour Fitness to qualify.

National Park admissions
Current military members can get a free annual pass to trails nationwide. Apply online or in person to qualify.

Tuition discounts
Some undergraduate and graduate programs offer tuition discounts, schedule flexibility, bookstore vouchers and more for veterans and active duty servicemen. Participating schools include Berklee School of Music, California Southern University, Regent University, Saint Joseph’s University and Trident University. 

Contact your university to see if it offers military benefits. There are also often post-grad programs for military to help with the job hunt. 

Tutoring lessons
Military families can receive free online tutoring and coaching via Tutor.com. Check out the website for more details.

Apple
Veterans and active military members can get special pricing on Apple products with a valid military ID. 

Dell
The electronics retailer offers 10% off computers and other technology to military members and veterans.

Samsung
Samsung offers up to 30% off online purchases. This offer is only available to active military members. 

Hewlett Packard
Military members are allowed to join the HP Employee Purchase Program, which offers exclusive deals and discounts up to 35% and free shipping on all orders. Members also get access to online and phone support from technology experts.

Microsoft
Veterans and active military members can get a 10% discount on Microsoft products, from computers to Office 365, with a valid military ID. 

Cell phone plans
Verizon offers military members 15% off cell phone plans and 25% off accessories. AT&T offers 25% off its wireless plans.

Sprint gives veterans and military members up to 50% on select plans. Lastly, T-Mobile has two signature plans for military: Magenta Military ($25 per line) and Magenta Military Plus ($35 per line). Note: T-Mobile and Sprint are merging. Discounts may change once the merger is complete.

Supplies 
Get 15% off your entire purchase at Jo-Ann Fabrics and Michael’s with a valid military ID. CVS also offers 20% off online orders.

BJ’s membership
Military personnel can get a discounted rate on BJ’s annual membership. You need a valid ID to quality. Sam’s Club also offers a free $10 gift card to military members for signing up. 

Home improvement
Military personnel with a valid ID can get 15% off their entire purchase at Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma. They can also get 15% off Sherwin-Williams painting supplies. 

Jewelry 
Military members can get 10% off engagement rings and wedding bands at Tiffany & Co. Military members’ partners are also eligible for the discount. 

Overstock
If you’re a member of the military, you can join Overstock’s Military Membership for free and get free shipping, free returns and 5% rewards on all purchases.

Sporting goods

Active military members and veterans can get 5% off their purchase in-store or online at Bass Pro Shops. Modell’s Sporting Goods offers 10% off.
