There’s been plenty of speculation that, despite hints of a fourth season supposedly being planned, that this third season might be the last for “Ted Lasso.”
The truth? While Apple TV+ might find a creative solution should the streamer want to milk the successful show longer (more on that in a minute), show creator Jason Sudeikis is done. “This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell,” he told Deadline. “The fact that folks will want more and are curious beyond more than what they don’t even know yet—that being Season Three — it’s flattering.”
But given how much people have grown attached to characters like Coach Beard (played by Brendan Hunt), Keeley Jones (Juno Temple), Lasso and more, the chance of a spin-off can’t be ruled out — even by Sudeikis. “Yeah, I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks…to get to watch the further telling of these stories,” he said. “The fact that people want more, even if it’s a different avenue is lovely.”
