Awapuhi The Little Seal
In the spring of 2017, NOAA crews stationed at French Frigate Shoals in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands discovered a severely weak and malnourished pup, ‘Awapuhi, on Gin Island. The picture is for the seal pup resting just before the team transferred her to NOAA ships for transport to The Marine Mammal Center.
