Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her eldest son Charles has become the new King of Britain.
The Queen became the sixth female monarch in British history after her father, King George VI, died in February 1952. She ruled for 70 years, making her the longest reigning monarch in British history.

King Charles III
Heir apparent since the age of three, King Charles was the longest serving monarch-in-waiting in British history.
Charles was the first royal heir to earn a university degree, and he is president or patron of more than 400 charitable organizations.
1. Prince William
Royal title: Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Cambridge.
Order of succession: First in line to the throne
King Charles III’s eldest son, the Duke of Cambridge, is now heir apparent and next in line to the throne.
Prince William does not automatically become Prince of Wales. Since the 14th century, heirs to the throne have used that title, but it is not inheritable. It must be granted by King Charles. Currently, the title is vacant.
