In a Nutshell…

Plus, all prizes are single payouts. Even the jackpot. So you’ll never have to make the nerve-racking decision “cash or annuity option?”

When is the Texas Two Step Drawing?

Winning numbers for Texas Two Step are drawn every Monday and Thursday night at approximately 10:12 pm CT.

If you bought your Texas Two Step ticket in person, prizes up to $599 are redeemable from any Texas State lottery retailer.

Prizes up to $2,500,000 can be claimed at the closest claim center near you or you can fill out a claim online and have your prize mailed to you. Claim your tickets for prizes over $2,500,000 directly from the Texas State Lottery Commission headquarters in Austin.

How High Can Texas Two Step Jackpots Grow?

How big can you dream? Like the big lottery games like Powerball, the Texas Two Step jackpot keeps growing until someone wins the grand prize. The largest prize to date is $2.9 million, awarded in April 2006. The minimum prize to be won is $200,000.

Texas Two Step Prediction: Is It Possible?

Theories abound around accurately predicting what numbers will be drawn in various lottery games. Texas Two Step’s odds of winning the grand prize are one in 1,832,600. This means that one of 1,832,600 possible number combinations can be drawn in any given game. Draws happen completely at random, and there is no way to accurately predict what numbers will appear in any given draw.

Many people will study the statistics of draws to track what numbers have been drawn in the past and try to determine patterns behind past numbers drawn to try to predict future number appearances. That’s one way to try to predict what numbers will be drawn if you have time on your hands and a love of numbers.

Now you’re ready to play Texas Two Step! Good luck and happy picking!

The lottery is a game of chance. People use dozens of strategies to try and boost their chance of winning a life-changing prize. From scrutinizing the numbers (or choosing seemingly random numbers) to joining your lottery pool at work, there are many ways people choose to play. Do these strategies affect your odds? Not at all. Everyone has the same chance of picking the winning lottery numbers.

Can Lottery Winners Choose to Remain Anonymous?

When you learn about the most lottery winnings by state, we bet you want to know if those winners had the option to remain anonymous when they claimed their prize. The answer is that it depends. States have their own rules about whether lottery winners can remain anonymous. And there may be stipulations on those rules, too. For example, in Texas, you can remain anonymous only if the prize won is over $1 million. Check your state lottery website for more information on which regulations apply to you.

So, what happens if you win? If you join the biggest lottery winners, be ready to give Uncle Sam his piece of the pie. Any winnings above $599.99 are considered income in the eyes of the IRS and will be taxed as such. Your normal income tax rate will be charged for prizes from $600 to $4,999.99. Once you hit $5,000, the IRS will take 24% of your total winnings.

Depending on your other income, this could push you into a higher tax bracket, so be prepared to pay the difference between what the IRS has already taken and your actual tax bracket in additional taxes. For example, if your total income between work and your lottery winnings puts you in the 37% tax bracket, you will owe an additional 13% of your winnings back to the government.
