2023 Colorado Lotto+ Game Changes

The beloved Colorado Lotto+ game took things up a notch in fall 2023 and expanded its winning opportunities to three drawings per week. Starting Monday, September 25th, the Colorado Lottery added an additional drawing day, giving you even more chances to strike gold.

How to Play Colorado Lotto+

Select 6 numbers from 1–40 and then wait for your drawing! You can pick your own numbers or Quick Pick.

Lotto+ is similar to other draw games like Mega Millions and Powerball. The more numbers you match, the more you win.

Colorado Lotto+ offers a simple yet enticing gameplay format. With each ticket, players have the opportunity to win the jackpot, which starts at an impressive $1 million and continues to grooowwww until someone claims the top prize!

Colorado Lotto+ Prizes

The overall odds of winning a Colorado Lotto+ prize are 1 in 30. There are 4 ways to win a prize:

Colorado Lotto+ Prizes

Colorado Lotto+ Multiplier

If you’re not familiar with lottery multipliers, this feature on your ticket can multiply non-jackpot winnings by a certain amount. Many games have a multiplier feature, including Colorado Lotto+.

When you play Colorado Lotto+, each ticket will include a variable multiplier (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X). This is not an add-on—like the Powerball Power Play, which costs an additional $1. Instead, the Colorado Lotto+ multiplier is included automatically on your ticket. Here’s how it works: any winnings (not including the jackpot) will be multiplied by the multiplier amount shown on your ticket. Matched 5 numbers and have the 2X multiplier on your ticket? Your $250 prize now becomes $500.

What’s Plus?

Plus is a $1 add-on to your ticket for a second chance at winning!

The numbers on your ticket are used for an additional drawing conducted immediately after the Colorado Lotto+ drawing. If all six of your numbers match the second set of numbers drawn, you’ll win a $250,000 Plus top prize. Any other winnings (matching 3 up to 5 numbers and not including the 6 of 6 jackpot) will be multiplied by the multiplier amount shown on your ticket.

The numbers drawn for both Colorado Lotto+ and the Plus option will be available after the drawing. Any wins from both the Colorado Lotto+ and Plus drawings will be combined.

What Happens If You Win?

After the Colorado lottery results come in, you may be so lucky to have a winning Colorado Lotto+ ticket. Win $599 or less? You can claim your prize from your local retailer or mail your signed winning ticket to the Colorado Lottery. For wins of $600 or more, you can:

  •  claim your prize in person at any Colorado Lottery claim center

  • claim your prize online through the Colorado Lottery website (prizes up to $100,000 can be directly deposited into your account; prizes over this amount will be mailed by check),

  • mail your ticket to the Colorado lottery headquarters in Pueblo, CO.

The first Mega Millions Florida lottery winners were Robin Collier and Raymond Moyer, who took home a whopping $115 million after splitting the prize with another winner in Maryland. (They were dating at the time!) The $115 million was their cut after they took the lump sum prize.

Here’s what we know. The winning ticket was purchased at a Publix in Jacksonville. What we don’t know? Who is the (un)lucky ticket holder. This ticket expired before a winner came forward.

Has anyone in Florida ever won the Powerball? Mega Millions isn’t the only game making millionaires out of Floridians. Powerball has had its fair share of winners hailing from Florida:

1. $1.58 billion jackpot (January 13, 2016) Maureen Smith and David Kaltschmidt from Melbourne Beach were the lucky owners of 1 of 3 winning tickets for the $1.58 billion Powerball on January 13, 2016. They claimed their prize (a lump sum of $327.8 million) as the Nickel 95 Trust.

Mega Millions saw a winner in Sheryll Goedert, a partner in the law firm Collier, Jernigan, and Goedert, when she took home a lump sum of $277 million from a ticket at a 7-11 in Bonita Springs. She formed the Vacation Life LLC to claim her prize.

Don’t let the fact that you’re on vacation keep you from getting your lottery ticket. James Stocklas was visiting the Florida Keys from Pennsylvania when he picked up a winning ticket worth $191 million in the lump sum payout. He won on a Quick Pick!

If you’re on vacation in New Hampshire and got yourself a lottery ticket, you can get the latest NH lottery winning numbers and results for all state games here.

The Love You More Trust trustee Clay Tousey took home almost $197 million in a lump sum payment on June 5, 2021.

Thomas Ye took home a nice sum of $160 million in his lump sum payment when winning Powerball. He got his ticket at Publix in Lutz in the Tampa Bay area.

That’s a lot of lucky winners taking home a lot of dough. We’re happy for them! Mega Millions and Powerball top the list of big winners because they are multi-state games, making their grand prizes especially astronomical.

Six winners split a $106.5 million FLORIDA LOTTO  prize on September 15, 1990.

Who was the first Powerball winner in Florida?

That honor belongs to Orlando area dermatologist Dr. William Steele, who won on October 3, 2009. They took home a grand prize of $189 million, opting for a one-time lump sum of $101 million.

What is the largest prize that was never claimed in Florida?

How much in lottery winnings has been left unclaimed in Florida?

This number blows our minds. A whopping $447 million has gone unclaimed since the Florida lottery began (as of 5/22/23), according to data provided by the Florida Lottery. What happens when Florida lottery prizes go unclaimed? According to Florida law, 80% of 80% of unclaimed and expired lottery prizes is transferred to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund — which provides scholarships and assistance to districts — while the remaining 20% is returned to the prize pool for future drawings. In Florida, you have 180 days after the winning draw date to claim your prize before the lottery ticket expires.
