Power Play Multiplier: How does Powerball Power Play work?
The Powerball Power Play is a special number that is randomly drawn before each Powerball drawing. This “multiplier” number is chosen by a random number generator with weighted values for each multiplier option. Powerball with Power Play increases the amount you can win based on which multiplier number is drawn. This can make a big difference in your prize. (See the chart below for the different multiplier odds.)
How does Power Play work in Powerball? There are twenty-four 2X values; thirteen 3X values; three 4X values; and two 5X values. And when jackpots are below $150 Million, one 10X value is added to the mix! The value is drawn right before the numbers for the Powerball are. When the value is drawn, you know by how much your prize could potentially increase, then you just need to wait for the drawing to finish!
