These retirees created the greatest calendar ever

Written by:

Not since Neal Sedaka crooned his ambrosial hit “Calendar Girl” has there been a sweeter, more creative use of the Gregorian calendar concept than that of the residents and staff of Spiritwood Assisted Living in Washington state.

These amazing seniors have been recreating famous movie posters since 2018, and what does one do with a fantastic bunch of recreated movie posters?

Well, one makes a hysterical, adorable calendar, sells that calendar and gives every bit of the proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The residents of Spiritwood have been able to donate thousands of dollars to Alzheimer’s research, but the residents are the biggest winners here.

Each calendar takes months of preparation, and the residents are involved in the process the whole way.  The genius mind that came up with such a brilliant concept belongs to the very aptly named Jennifer Angell (I swear. It really is.), Marketing and Community Relations Director at Spiritwood.

Angell told Good News Network, “I’m just trying to think out of the box and do different things. I want to earn as much money as I can for the Alzheimer’s Association… Plus, it’s fun for the seniors. I don’t want them being bored.”

All you have to do is see the faces of these talented seniors to know without question that they are not even close to being bored.
