What is Safe For Your Family?

Only you can make that decision with your family’s medical team. There is no one-size-fits-all candy or product for everyone.

A few options are open to families with food allergies choosing to trick or treat. We have compiled some of our favorite Top 8 and 9 Allergen free candies and brands. These candies are free from the top 9 or 8 priority allergens by ingredients. You will still need to verify with the manufacturer and ingredient label to see if they are safe for you.

Contacting the brand to see if there are shared facilities and lines is important for many. We encourage you to always follow up on product safety with the manufacturer.

Another thing to check with manufacturers is if the treat-sized or varying-sized bags are produced in their regular facilities or outsourced and if the Halloween products are safe for you. Sometimes, products are outsourced for special runs and made in different facilities with other allergens.

Food for Thought

Always contact the manufacturer for cross contact risks and read the ingredients as they can change. Manufacturing may differ for the candies from time to time with ingredient availability, and they may come in contact with allergens.

Also, many snack-sized or holiday product runs are done in different facilities than the regular candies. This means that they may have different allergy info for their facilities, ingredients, or cross contact. Never assume that a candy is safe because it has been safe for you before. Always check with the manufacturer to get the most up to date information.
